Job Summary of Freight Processor:
Your role will include providing support in warehouse functions by performing tasks such as selecting items, packaging orders, assembling products, organizing inventory, shipping items, and receiving deliveries. This position is essential in meeting the productivity and quality goals of the facility while ensuring efficient operations in a high-paced environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Freight Processor:
- Assess production timelines, client orders, job directives, shipping schedules, or material requisitions to identify the items scheduled for transportation or collection.
- Move materials and items from receiving or production sectors to designated storage sites.
- Systematize and differentiate items by their SKU codes, quantities, and product types.
- Employ the use of specialized machinery like the electric pallet jack and stand-up forklift for product handling.
- Utilize a safety harness when ascending up to 25 feet on a cherry picker.
- Establish effective communication channels with individuals involved in receiving, driving, and operating forklifts.
- Implement safety measures when conducting truck and trailer hauling tasks.
- Organize and place items in specified sections within the warehouse.
- Take care of company-provided gear, such as PPE and voice communication tools.
- Report potential risks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure you wear the company-issued uniform as instructed for your work duties.
- Collect products from stock to assemble and prepare for shipping to customers.
- Affix labels with identifying information onto the pallets and open containers accordingly.
Qualifications and Experience of Freight Processor:
- - To be considered, applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, or have undergone one to three months of relevant training or experience.
- Skillful in operating both an electric pallet jack and vertical forklift.
- Skilled in safely operating a cherry picker to climb 25 feet, with the added protection of a safety harness.
- Proficiency in both communication and teamwork skills.
- Aptitude for succeeding in a high-speed and physically demanding work environment.
